Your donation will support Foundation efforts to identify talented individuals and prepare them for successful careers within the IP law profession. Help us to build a profession which more fully reflects the racial and ethnic diversity of our clients and the broader community of innovators that make up the IP profession we serve.

The Foundation’s comprehensive program of identification and engagement of members of underrepresented racial and ethnic groups aims at empowering students to become exceptional patent career-ready attorneys through its Sidney B. Williams, Jr. Scholars Program. Your contribution supports these efforts.

Become a Sponsoring Employer in the Scholar Internship/Clerkship Program

Our Sidney B. Williams, Jr. Scholar Program seeks law firms, corporations, government agencies, and other  organizations  willing  to  serve  as  Sponsoring  Employers  in  its  Scholar  Internship/Clerkship Program.  This program seeks to identify competitive internship and clerkship opportunities that might be of interest to its Sidney B. Williams, Jr. Scholars and assists with matching Scholars with Sponsoring Employers.  The focus of the program is on securing summer internships for both 1L and 2L racially and ethnically diverse law students exploring a career in patent law. If interested, please complete the following form:  Sponsor an Internship or Clerkship or, for more information, please contact us at info@diversityiniplaw.org. Each Sponsoring Employer participating in the program will have the opportunity to review the to review the resumes of Scholars and select an initial group to interview.  The Sponsoring Employer may meet with selected candidates during a screening interview that the Foundation, upon request, will arrange or a Sponsoring Employer may proceed directly through its normal interview process.  The Sponsoring Employer makes its own hiring decisions, as it would with any other candidate.  The internship or clerkship terms and conditions are set between the Sponsoring Employer and the selected candidate. By participating in this program, there is no commitment to employ any candidate who is interviewed. Further, hiring a Scholar as an intern or clerk through the program carries with it is no commitment of future employment.  The Foundation’s intent is simply introduce Sponsoring Employers to our Scholars and allow the Sponsoring Employer to decide whether to proceed with an interview process and, if so, on what terms.
